Classic Pound Cake
Who doesn't love a classic pound cake? Easy to make, smells amazing and can be served so many ways.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups Zulka® sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard-sized loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and Zulka® sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined after each addition. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the pound cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice and serve this delicious pound cake as is, or pair it with your favorite toppings or spreads.
